TEST DESIGN & TEST CONTENT / TEST
DESIGN FOR STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
:
Detailed information is as follows:
Mega Olympia Combat
The Mega Olympia-Combat tests are skill based. They are
aligned to but do not follow any single national
curriculum. This allows students from all countries to
be compared fairly. The duration of each test for the
students of grade III -XII is 60 minutes. There are
multiple-choice questions on each test.
English Olympia (E-MOC)
In the English Mega Olympia-Combat test, students are
not asked merely to retrieve information from a passage;
they are asked to make inferences, form judgements and
reflect on the texts. Questions addressing higher-order
thinking skills are used to ascertain whether a student
can ‘read between the lines' and understand subtlety and
nuance in the English language. Texts are original,
engaging and illustrated. Questions are clear, concise
and relevant. Question intents explain the purpose of
the questions to students, teachers and parents.
Mathematics Olympia (M-MOC)
For Mathematics questions, students are asked to make
sense of mathematical concepts in everyday situations.
MOC Mathematics is not about simply remembering rules
and procedures; it requires students to use higher-order
thinking to apply their mathematical skills to solve
problems. Questions are set out clearly on the page to
help students navigate through the test. Multiple-choice
options have been carefully designed to provide
plausible distracters.
Science Olympia (S-MOC)
In the Science tests, students are asked to apply
scientific principles to particular problems. MOC
Science not only assesses students' knowledge of
science, it assesses whether students are capable of
applying this knowledge to the given contexts. Many of
the higher order thinking questions are based on
scientific enquiry. The reading load required to answer
a Science question is kept very basic. This is to ensure
scientific concepts are assessed, not a student's
reading ability.
GK & Current Affairs Olympia (GK-MOC)
It endeavors to develop interest in the current affairs
and the awareness to excel academically and overall.
Commerce Olympia (C-MOC)
It
primarily aims at testing students' knowledge about
subject of Commercial Studies and Business Studies. The
examination purely focuses on Economics, Business
Studies and Accountancy. The paper also helps students
demonstrate his/ her understanding for the concepts in
Commercial Applications.
PCB Olympia (PCB-MOC)
Students are asked to apply scientific principles to
various general problems. PCB Sciences not only assesses
students' knowledge of science, but helps to understand
whether students are capable of applying this knowledge
to the given contexts. Many of the higher order thinking
questions are based on scientific enquiry.
PCM Olympia (PCM-MOC)
Questions are set out clearly to help students navigate
through the test.PCM is not simply about remembering
rules and procedures; it requires students to use
higher-order thinking to apply their mathematical skills
to solve problems and to apply scientific principles to
various general problems.

always have scope for improvement. This can be done only
with sheer hard work, love for the subject and deep
diving dedication. The purpose of the English Olympia

them familiar with the basic important concepts. It
helps them to improve their analytical skills. It
challenges their intellect and promotes deeper
understanding imaginary and creative skills.
